Richard's advocacy of creativity and innovation in business is backed up by extensive experience in product, programme and change management, process improvement, and measuring performance. He is founding director and a Managing Partner of Achieving the Difference.
Richard has held senior executive and board level positions - including directorship of LSE listed companies - in sales, marketing and general management with companies such as Orange, Multitone, Plessey and Custom Sound. His early career was playing and managing bands in the rock music business, in publishing and industrial engineering.
Richard has studied at Ashridge and Henley Management Colleges after graduating from the University of Birmingham with a joint honours degree in social sciences and philosophy, having initially studied Industrial Engineering. He is a Certified NLP Master Practitioner, is a member of the Institute of Directors, the Chartered Management Institute and a Companion of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management. He is also trained as an EFQM internal assessor and is a Certified ORB Auditor for the awarding of the Responsible Business Standard to businesses.
He currently is a member of the CBI South-West Regional Council. He is also GLAmbassador for GFirst, the Gloucestershire LEP, where he is also Chair of the BMG Advisory Group to the LEP.
Richard was a volunteer photographer for English Heritage and maintains his interest in photography. He is married to the author, Dinah Jefferies, whose works are published by Viking Penguin in the UK
